Welcoming Faces

From Easter until the end of September, a group of volunteers called Guardians offer a warm welcome and information about the church to around 20,000 visitors who come through our doors.

Hospitality and openness to the stranger are expressions of love – a love which means that the stranger becomes a friend. At St John’s it is made real by the ministry of the Guardians as well as our outreach and our welcome before, during and after services. Tourist, worshipper or curious local – all are welcome at St John’s! We currently have around 50 Guardians, taking turns to staff the church for a couple of hours at a time.

There will be a Guardian in the church at the following times:

Monday to Saturday Sunday
April / May 11am-3pm 2pm-4pm
June/July/August/September 10am-4pm 2pm-4pm

If you would like to join us, please contact the church office.
